Description of Programs
Anne Marie Connelly Detoxification Unit
The detoxification unit provides detoxification and stabilization services for
clients who are addicted to alcohol and / or other drugs. The agency works
closely with emergency rooms and social service agencies of all types in an
effort to provide coordinated services. Withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs
can be a life-threatening condition. We provide highly sophisticated monitoring
and management of the detoxification process. The goal is to safely detox
individuals who might otherwise experience damage or death due to their
addiction. The detoxification unit admits clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Addiction Recovery Center
The Addiction Recovery Center is a short-term intensive residential program
typically four to six weeks in length. Clients begin to develop the skills
needed to achieve stable recovery. Addiction is a biopsychosocial illness that
impacts all aspects of an individual's functioning. Program components include
intensive group therapy, lectures, stress management, relapse prevention, an
intensive family program, and aftercare planning. Counselors work closely with
individuals to facilitate completion of goals outlined in an individualized
treatment plan.
Turning Point Halfway House
The Turning Point program provides women and men the opportunity to live in a
structured, safe, sober environment while transitioning back into the community.
This working halfway house offers a three phase program designed to help those
in early recovery. Residents are required to obtain employment, participate in
group and individual counseling, and attend Alcoholics Anonymous / Narcotics
Anonymous meetings. Aftercare planning focuses on maintaining recovery and
obtaining appropriate community supports for long-term independence.
Outpatient Counseling Services
Southeastern NH Services offers outpatient counseling in Dover, Rochester,
and Exeter. We provide individual, adolescent, group, and family
counseling with skilled addiction professionals. Services also include
substance abuse evaluations, assessments and DWI aftercare counseling.
Impaired Driver Intervention Program
The impaired Driver Intervention Program utilizes curriculum developed by the
Prevention Research Institute, Inc. (PRI). This 20-hour program is a risk
reduction curriculum which lends itself to license restoration. This program has
been developed and tested to address both the alcoholic offender's needs for
abstinence and acceptance of treatment, and the prevention needs of those who do
not meet the criteria for alcohol dependence. The program includes the following
components: a 90-minute intake interview, the PRI psycho-educational curriculum,
and an Exit Interview by a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
PRIME For Life Under 21
This is a program for individuals ages thirteen to twenty who are already
engaged in high-risk drinking or drug use. The course includes a student
workbook, a self-assessment, and individual and group activities. The PRI Under
21 curriculum is particularly relevant for school systems, therapists and the
criminal justice system. The program content is carefully selected to achieve
specific attitude and behavior changes in young people to help reduce the risk
of alcohol and drug problems throughout their lives.
Miscellaneous
Southeastern NH Services provides student assistance and employee assistance
program training and consultation. We also provide extensive professional
training and consultation to organizations and communities on alcohol and other
drug related issues.
